The Drama Centre, owned and managed by National Arts Council, is a purpose-built performing arts space occupying 3rd to 5th storeys of the National Library Building. Comprising a 615-seat proscenium theatre, a black box and three multi-purpose function rooms, it will meet the demands of the diverse range of today's arts events - from the mid-sized theatrical presentation with stringent technical requirements, to intimate performances, talks and exhibitions.
The theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, rigging and sound systems. It also has an orchestra pit on a lift that can also form a front stage extension. With its plush seats and good acoustics, audiences are assured of a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The function area and its VIP lounge with exclusive facilities such as bar, pantry and toilets are excellent for seminars, meetings and private functions. A bar and box office located at the foyer are additional means by which the Drama Centre aims to assure patrons of the highest standards of service.
